The Wizards finally manged to get a W on the board on Thursday, manhandling the visiting Celtics 116-87 to bring the series to 2-1 in favor of Boston.
The two teams’ bad blood boiled over in the second quarter of their Game 3 matchup, with the Wizards’ Kelly Oubre Jr. for shoving Kelly Olynyk — after the latter setting a hard screen that sent Oubre to the floor. There were on the floor as well.
Washington’s John Wall scored a game-high 24 points in the rout, while Boston’s Isaiah Thomas had his worst outing of the series, with only 13 points. The two teams return to action Sunday in Washington.
In the late game, the Warriors went up two games to none on the Jazz in their Western Conference semifinal series. Golden State won 115-104 to improve to 6-0 in this year’s postseason. Kevin Durant led a balanced Warriors offense with 25 points. Stephen Curry added 23 and Draymond Green scored 21.
